Archer achieves vendor neutrality through our Data Feed Service, which allows you to capture any kind of external data and consolidated it within the Archer SmartSuite Framework to support various business processes. The Framework also enables direct application integration via industry-standard SOAP Web Services.

Archer achieves content independence through the flexibility of the Archer SmartSuite Framework. Through point-and-click configuration, you can easily adapt your Archer applications to store and display virtually any type of data.

Framework Integration Capabilities

• Data Import Wizard

  The Archer Data Import Wizard enables you to create or update multiple data records in a single action. The Wizard accepts delimited value data files and can be used for both small and large quantities of data. Importing data through the Data Import Wizard rather than entering it manually can save a great deal of time, and with good preparation, a data import can be completed quickly and easily.
  
  

  Typical Uses:

  • Segmentation of data isolates sensitive information and provides discrete physical separation for increased security and ease of data recovery.
  • One large Framework application infrastructure can support entirely separate clients or user bases, facilitating provider hosting configurations.

• Data Feed Service

  The Archer Data Feed Service offers an easy-to-use interface for automating the data import process. Built on an extensible integration architecture, the Data Feed Service lets you centralize data within the Archer SmartSuite Framework, unifying your view into critical business data regardless of its source location within your enterprise.
  
  The Data Feed Service supports a variety of file formats and can be configured to run on a set schedule. Additionally, the Data Feed Service supports the association of data housed in separate Archer applications, allowing you to dynamically link related items during the integration process.

  • Import threat, vulnerability or business data feeds into an Archer application on a regular schedule.
  • Integrate with network vulnerability scanners, host-based intrusion detection systems, and asset management or asset discovery tools.

• LDAP and Active Directory Integration

  To streamline the management of user accounts and groups, the Archer SmartSuite Framework supports direct integration with Active Directory and other LDAP systems. You can use this linkage to support single sign-on, to synchronize user account data and to manage user entitlements. Archer gives you full control over the process, including data mapping, the synchronization schedule, inactivation of deleted accounts and related functions.

• Web Services API

  For maximum flexibility, the Archer SmartSuite Framework Web Services API supports integration code written in virtually any development environment on any computing platform. Our API uses the industry-standard SOAP protocol to give you programmatic access to features within the Framework, such as searching, user management, and data import and export.
  
  This open-standards approach allows you to quickly integrate your Archer environment with existing batch processes, enterprise messaging systems or other third-party systems to leverage your existing IT investments.
