Scalability & Availability

The Archer SmartSuite Framework can meet the needs of your growing user base.

The Archer SmartSuite Framework was built with flexible scaling options in mind, allowing your organization to deploy the Framework using a hardware and software infrastructure that makes sense for your expected user load and for your application utilization and availability requirements. As business needs evolve, your Archer environment can scale to meet new demands, or you can shift your Archer applications to a more appropriate physical environment.

The flexible architecture of the Archer SmartSuite Framework makes available the following three options for configuring and scaling the Framework to optimize system performance and availability:

  • Standalone Implementation

In a basic deployment scenario, the entire Archer SmartSuite Framework can run on a single physical server, with the .NET application components running in conjunction with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Multi-Server Configuration

More robust environments will typically deploy the .NET application components across one or more web/application servers while separating the database onto its own dedicated server. In many instances, organizations leverage existing SQL Server systems or clusters to fulfill the database needs of the system, reducing dedicated hardware requirements.
  • High-Availability Configuration

Mission-critical deployments of the Archer SmartSuite Framework involve multiple load-balanced web/application servers and separate clustered database servers, typically with cold or warm standby environments. Data replication and recovery procedures are in place to accomplish a failover in the event of system outage. The Archer SmartSuite Framework supports numerous replication and availability approaches, including log shipping and SQL data replication.
