Archer Technologies Named a “Hot 500” Company by Entrepreneur Magazine
Product innovation, a strong Fortune 1000 customer base, and employee growth and retention solidify Archer as one of the nation’s fastest growing companies
Overland Park, KS, August 21, 2007 – Archer Technologies (Archer), a leading provider of automated enterprise risk and compliance management solutions, today announced that it was named a 2007 “Hot 500” entrepreneurial business by Entrepreneur magazine, the world’s leading publication for and about entrepreneurs. Archer, ranking 128 in the listing, was chosen from a database of over 19 million U.S. businesses due to an exceptional level of sales and job growth. Entrepreneur recognized founders Jon Darbyshire, Tara Darbyshire and CJ Archer as innovative entrepreneurs who have led Archer to its award-winning growth, which includes securing 35 of the top 40 financial institutions, seven of the largest telecommunications firms and prominent healthcare, pharmaceutical, technology and energy companies in the United States as clients.
“Archer’s growth is a testament to the talent and dedication of our employees, who create powerful risk and compliance management solutions and deliver exceptional service with a laser-like focus on the customer,” said Jon Darbyshire, president and CEO of Archer. “As we grow as an organization, it is our mission to continue to exceed our customers’ expectations.”
In the August issue, Entrepreneur uncovers the Hot 500 entrepreneurial businesses for 2007, which generated a massive $12.6 billion in 2006 revenue. The Hot 500 marks Entrepreneur’s 13th consecutive year of revealing the nation’s fastest-growing companies and the entrepreneurs behind them. By their second year in business, 61 percent of the Hot 500 companies had turned a profit and 56 percent had earned their first million. As a whole, Hot 500 companies are expected to employ 58,776 individuals by 2008, growing from 2,807 on their first day of business. Savings and personal funds, friends and family, bank loans, lines of credit and private investors were the most common sources of funding for these growing companies.
“For decades, we’ve recognized that entrepreneurs fuel the U.S. economy as the primary generators of new jobs,” said Rieva Lesonsky, senior vice president and editorial director of Entrepreneur. “The Hot 500 is our annual ranking of the fastest-growing entrepreneurial businesses. We’re proud to salute America’s leading entrepreneurial companies, which contribute so much to the nation’s and the world’s economy.”
